HOW DOES IT WORK?

Start by controlling existing mosquito populations in your yard! It’s impossible to eliminate every single mosquito as they are flying insects. However, you can knock back significant portions of the population to make your evenings more enjoyable!

Next, repel new mosquitoes for up to 3-4 weeks! Eggs are laid in standing water areas around the home, and even in moist soil. They later hatch to become larva, progressing to the pupa stage and then becoming blood-sucking adults. Treating around the areas of your home will help to repel these new mosquitoes and the ones your neighbor sends over!

We use a powerful spray gun that penetrates even the thickest shrubs. Unlike other companies that use a hand can or backpack sprayer, Big League Lawns can deliver the best coverage for optimum results.

WHERE DO WE SPRAY?

  • We will target your trees & shrubs. Mosquitoes like to hide out on the underside of the leaves. This offers them protection from the elements as well as predators.
  • Bark/mulch areas around the home.

Targeting these areas means we are infiltrating the areas the nasty bugs like to hide and keeping you happy as a result.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD IT BE DONE, AND HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Mosquitoes should be addressed on a monthly service schedule. For effective results, you’ll want to do at least 3 applications.

Each application suppresses mosquito populations for 3-4 weeks. The populations bounce back, however, since they can fly in from areas next door that are untreated etc.

Each application can be done with each lawn application for your convenience

WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO SEE?

You should see a significant reduction in mosquito activity around your home for the next few weeks after an application. This means less swatting, less itching and more time outside!

To guarantee the service we will need to do at least 2 applications before doing any service calls on the property.

WHAT ABOUT STANDING WATER AREAS?

Eliminate standing water as best you can to decrease areas for eggs to be laid and places mosquitoes can drink. Although we do not treat water areas, we do still see good results.

Because the mosquitoes are still in the larval stage while in the water, they are not flying around feeding on hosts yet. This means once they become adults and do fly, we will be attacking the areas they rest and hide in.

By avoiding water areas we can also be more conscious of the animal life that needs a drink!

CAN I JUST DO ONE APPLICATION?

One application will give you a noticeable difference for a couple of weeks but won’t really do the job you are looking for. The first treatment just begins to address established mosquito populations. Like going to the gym, one workout just won’t cut it. As a result, we cannot guarantee the service, nor perform free service calls.
